La Manga Strip del Mar Menor
Stretching out into the Mediterranean Sea, La Manga Strip is a long slice of sandy heaven that makes a great destination for holidaymakers. On one side of the strip you’ve got the lagoon-like beauty of the Mar Menor Lagoon, while the other side looks out across the Mediterranean Sea. ‘La Manga’ is the Spanish word for ‘sleeve’, which is apt for this 21-kilometre long stretch, which is just 300 metres wide.
During your holiday to La Manga Club, you’ll find this is the must-see place to visit, catch a boat ride across the Mar Menor, and watch the buzz of marina life at Tomas Maestre Marina. You’ll also have your pick of the bars, restaurants, and shops that line the strip. Or if you’d rather take things at a more relaxed pace, simply sit back on the white, sandy beaches and enjoy the azure blue waters that are well known for having a high salt and mineral content. What’s more, the water here is warm – and you’ll be pleased to hear the temperature never falls below 18 degrees. If you’d rather visit La Manga Strip when it’s less busy, try coming here in winter – many of the shops won’t be open but you’ll still be able to enjoy all the natural beauty this area has to offer.
La Manga Strip is all about the good things in life, and while you take in the beauty of this place that has 44 kilometres of sand to its name, you can also enjoy a spot of golf on the Veneziola golf course. This nine-hole course is right at the end of the strip and offers stunning views as you work your way round the course.
So whether you want stunning natural scenery, great eateries, a good game of golf, or a spot of retail therapy, there’s no doubt that La Manga Strip is a must-see place to visit on your holiday to La Manga Club Resort.
