Cricket Holidays
Despite the game having been played there for well over two centuries, Spain isn’t commonly associated with the sport of cricket. Surprisingly, some of the best cricket facilities on the continent can be found on the Iberian peninsula, with the La Manga Club complex leading the way.
Why La Manga?
Given that Spain has some of the best year-round weather in all of Europe, playing cricket in the country makes sense, and there’s no better place to arrange your cricket holiday than at this five star resort on the stunning Costa Calida, right beside the glorious Mediterranean Sea. La Manga’s cricket facilities are not just for adults, people of all ages are welcome to come and train, and young people will gain invaluable insights into the game as well as experiencing the excellent junior cricket academy.

Cricket enthusiasts will be thrilled to be training and playing on world-class grounds used by the Spanish national cricket team and also the regional arm of the sport’s governing body, ICC Europe, for academies. The resort’s cricket pitches are where all the big Spanish tournaments are held, with players coming from around Europe and even as far afield as Asia.
Where to stay
Arriving at La Manga Club couldn’t be easier. Transfers from the nearby Murcia–San Javier Airport are available and the Club provides some of the best accommodation in Spain, with a choice of luxury hotel rooms, modern self-catering apartments and stylish townhouses and villas.
Where to dine
There is also an array of top restaurants, cafes, bistros and bars all around the resort, serving everything from local delicacies to dishes from around the world. Evening entertainment is available at many of the resort’s venues, providing guests with plenty of options for a night out.
Competitions
The resort can allocate pitches for guests and organise activities at many of its other sporting centres, from football to tennis and many more. Cricket lovers will get a kick out of matches that can be organised with local teams and umpired by an official from Cricket España, the national governing body for the sport, to give it that official feel.
