Top Spanish sports and leisure resort La Manga Club is upgrading its stunning facilities and has set its sights on becoming a global leader in golf coaching and practice.
Set over 1,400 acres in Cartagena, Murcia, and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the resort has been embarking on a major renovation project that’s being carried out in phases, the first of which is almost complete. La Manga Club’s putting green has been expanded to four times its size and its driving range is also getting an upgrade, with work scheduled for completion in the coming weeks.
When the revamped driving range is unveiled, it will be 300 metres longer and have 20 more mats. That means as many as 100 golfers will be able to use it at the same time.
Critical to its long-term plans of becoming a global golf instruction leader, La Manga Club’s award-winning facilities now include top-class coaching and training available to golfing hopefuls from all over the world.
The resort’s general manager, Jose Asenjo, is pleased with the redevelopment programme so far, saying…
the changes will help La Manga Club cement its reputation as the premier sports and leisure destination in Europe.
The resort has been popular with holidaymakers and sporting stars of all stripes since it opened in 1972, and accommodates its guests at its five-star hotel and four-star Las Lomas Village. The property has three golf courses, 28 tennis courts and eight football pitches, as well as a spa and fitness centre.
